Tony Burton is the Managing Director of the Cyber Security and Trust business of Thales UK Ltd. Covering a broad spectrum of market verticals from Defence, Government and CNI, Tony has established Thales as a leading supplier of cyber consultancy, managed services and programme delivery. Tony’s commitment to the development of an inclusive and socially responsible business has seen great progress in STEM outreach and regional development in South Wales and the establishment of an international Operational Technology Cyber Competence Centre has been a particular highlight alongside the National Digital Exploitation Centre
Prior to this, Tony was Strategy Director for Thales Secure Communications and Information Systems, responsible for targeting the continuous innovation, research and development of compelling products and services in order to maintain Thales’ position as a global market leader.
Earlier in his 19 year career in Thales Tony held many business, programme and project management roles across the defence, government and critical infrastructure domains.
Tony joined Thales in 2002 having spent 13 years in the Ministry of Defence in a variety of positions in the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance domains.
Tony completed a MoD apprenticeship and HNC in Electronics and Electrical Engineering before completing a sponsored First degree in Electronics and Computing. Whilst with Thales Tony also completed a Master’s degree in Major Project Management with Newcastle University.
Tony is married with two children and still enjoys participation in many sports and social activities.
